How does one sum up a person’s incredibly detailed personality, thoughts, feelings, interactions with others, and life? We are eight billion complex, individual, sentient beings. Still, I’m just one of them, and I’m grateful you are here sharing this human experience with me.
I spent much of my professional life as a veterinarian’s right hand. Consequently, I learned so many life nuggets of wisdom from my mentors. It is impossible to convey the enormity of what one discovers in practice about science, the sentience of other beings, and how everything is connected. My years in veterinary practice were some of the most profoundly beneficial, difficult years of my life.
There is no substitute for a genuine, knowledgeable, wise healer.
Currently, I’m working on using my motley education and pursuing some long-on-hold dreams. I’m moderately institutionally educated in biological sciences, web development, with a respectable-sized bucket of programming mixed in, and in writing. Nevertheless, I’m broadly life-educated.
A new journey
Onward Sister has been brewing inside me for a very long time. The mountain I was trying to find, the direction I was looking for. It’s no coincidence that Onward Sister is represented by a compass, a maze, mountains, and an arrow pointing North out of the trees.

I’m one of the parents in my beautifully blended family. My husband and I are raising three beautiful kids, neurodivergent included. Parenting is not at all what I expected. Moreover, as a mother, I can feel the entire spectrum of emotions within one hour. Likewise, my parents and sisters are vital to my life.
My garden, hanging out with my family and friends, running, jumping, skating, and being immersed in my beloved collection of books are where I love to be.
In addition, I’m part of a local authors’ alliance and a couple of writing groups. Being part of such a fabulous, supportive writing community helps me thrive.
This all started with Dropping Rocks. Like so many, I found myself carrying what seemed like an impossibly heavy load of life rocks. There were past hardships, present challenges, and worry for life, kids, and the future.
How does an ordinary 40-something-year-old woman with responsibilities, bills, and baggage do all that? On a quest to figure it out, I developed my blog, Dropping Rocks, as a way to find and drop the rocks that were unnecessary to thriving.
Indeed, there are rocks we cannot set down, responsibilities and obligations that come with adulting. However, I’m always discovering rocks I can let go of and ways to evolve in mind and spirit. Hopefully, I will inspire others to do the same along the way.
For a humorous look at my take on this human experience, you can join me at Dropping Rocks.

When a song tells your story, the words are precisely for you at that moment. Each word as if it belonged to you—your message.

Why do I need to run a marathon? For something gained from the relentless pursuit of an athlete going one push further than ever before.

I never could have imagined she would be mine or that I would even know how to make her purr, let alone turn her on. Her kind of curves were just for the big boys?

Sometimes even a gemstone, at the end of the day, is just a rock taking up space. Practicing mindfulness might include removing precious stones.
